Does a longer journey change the 100 km fare?
The meter applies whichever is higher: the distance charge or the time charge. The Istanbul tariff sets the hourly rate at 598.90 ₺, so once a 100 kilometre ride runs longer than 480 minutes the meter starts charging for time instead of distance. That is why fares come out higher than calculated in heavy traffic.
